Age Constraint

According to fresh rules, there is absolutely no upper limit of age for the CLAT exam 2021.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidate needs to clear 10+2 exam or anything equivalent. In fact, the candidates appearing the qualifying test in April/May 2020 can also be eligible. However, these candidates need to produce proof of clearing the exam while taking admission. In fact, this is a mandatory aspect that the candidates need to fulfill.
  • It is essential for the candidates to clear 12th class board level examination. Otherwise, the candidate must have cleared the senior secondary school test. Most importantly, the candidate must have passed from an acknowledged education board.
  • Most importantly, the candidate needs to score a minimum of 45 percent mark at qualifying level. In fact, it is essential to obtain this mark in CLAT 2020. However, those who belong to SC and ST category are essential to score a minimum of 40 percent.

Age Constraints

Absolutely, there is no higher limit of age for those taking admission into post-graduate program.

Educational Qualification

  • Primarily, it is essential for candidates to possess an LLB or any equivalent degree. Most importantly, they need to obtain at least 50 percent marks. However, this criterion is applicable for General, OBC, PWD, PIO, OCI, and NRI students. But, they need a 45 percent minimum for SC/ST candidates. Those appearing for qualifying tests in March/April 2020 also hold eligibility for the test. However, it is essential for these candidates to proofs of clearing the qualifying examination

How many times one can attempt the exam?

Apparently, there is no age constraint for CLAT tests. In short, a candidate holds the scope of appearing for any amount of time in the examination. In fact, the Supreme Court has provided free scope for the candidates on this aspect.

One must ensure that it’s impossible to appear for CLAT 2021 upon not meeting eligibility criteria. Most importantly, it gives clarity to the candidate regarding reservations and fee exemptions. Are there any changes introduced in CLAT eligibility criteria?

Specifically, things have changed regarding age gap. According to fresh criterion for CLAT 2021, anyone, irrespective of age constraint, can apply for NLU admission exam. However, BCI had imposed age restrictions earlier in this regard.

They have set rules for those who are 20 years or lesser by the date of admission.  According to it, they can only go for applying law entrance tests of national level for undergraduate programs. Similarly, those who are from SC, ST, OBC, or Specially Able group can enjoy exemption of 2 years. In short, those who are 22 years by the same date will be eligible for CLAT.

Is there any relaxation available for Specially-Able Persons (SAPs)?

Indeed, the specially-able people or SAPs can go for arranging their own scribe. Otherwise, they can formally make requests at the CLAT offices to obtain one. Anyway, those arranging for their own scribe must go for downloading scribe declaration form while filling CLAT 2021 application. However, the Specially Able People can enjoy extra 40 minutes of time for the examination.
